Facilities Management
This course of study involves eight areas of study:
- carpentry
- plumbing
- electrical
- welding
- metal fabrication
- painting
- landscaping
- estimating
- scheduling
The basics of each area will be taught through competency based projects.
Progress into upper grade levels will increase students’ troubleshooting abilities and create a general knowledge of all of the above trade areas. Students showing a preference for a specific area will be allowed to focus in that area when the other requirements are completed.
Students majoring in this program will be prepared to handle the demands of managing the daily maintenance of a business or institutional building or facility. This includes the routine repairs of the building and mechanical systems within the property. Graduates may seek entry level positions within the trade or pursue higher educational opportunities to obtain certification within the facilities
